Finding new paths and perspectives
I strive to provide a framework for the client's self healing capabilities. Utilizing a client centered, body based approach means I start with curiosity and compassion for where the client has been, and what is showing up in their body, especially when they are triggered. I'm certified, and a consultant in Brainspotting, which informs everything about how I view therapy. Brainspotting is a focused mindfulness technique that pairs eye position with body sensation, and can yield deeper processing than regular talk therapy.
Brainspotting is based on the profound attunement of the therapist with the patient, finding a somatic cue and extinguishing it by down-regulating the amygdala. It isn’t just PNS (Parasympathetic Nervous System) activation that is facilitated, it is homeostasis.
